Sandra
Gets A Million

It was one
of those Sundays... all day I was just waiting to get
in front of the TV and find out how the 7th installment
of Survivor was to end. Apparently I was not alone because
according to preliminary figures from Nielsen 25.4 million
viewers watched the season finale and obliterated the
competition. NBC’s “Secret Santa” was
the number 2 show with about half the viewers of Survivor
7.
While Survivor 7 had no problem roping in the viewers
this season, I must say that compared to the 2 previous
installments (Amazon and Thailand) I was slightly disappointed
with the show as it neared the end of the season.
The season
neared it’s end and I watched as my
favorite contestants got booted week after week. No one
was left. Even Darrah who had a nice little skinny body
(she wants to get a boob job I heard) was difficult to
watch. Her speech seemed more an impediment than just
a bad southern accent. But at least she was kinda cute.
Unfortunately Darrah got the boot at the begining of
the final episode and did not make it to the final three.
In the end
we had the woman hating boy loving Jonny Fairpuss, “Say what’s on your mind” Sandra
and a half dead Lill, the self absorbed do gooder battling
to go to the final 2 and face the jury of losing survivors.
I did not like any of the final 3 players and was somewhat
unconcerned as to which of them would end up facing the
jury. If Survivor were not such a well executed television
show I would have been long gone, but they sure do know
how to make good entertainment. So I stuck around to
see Lill win immunity and give Jonny Queerboy the heave
ho.
I must admit that was pretty intersting as any half
sane person would have preffered to go up against Jon
as he had alienated every loser on the jury. What was
Lil thinking? She was trying to save face and appear
to have standards as she felt so guilty about lying and
being a snake. So rationalized by saying Sandra had a
family.
In any event
it was almost torturous enduring the final tribal council
where the jury poised questions of both
Lil and Sandra. I don’t think much of either of
those two. If I must pick (and you have to you know)
I would say Sandra is the better of the final two.
Lillian was getting on my nereves more and more. Especially
when she kept referring to herself in 3rd person... Lillian
this... Lil that.
In the end
it was no surprise to see Sandra get the million. She
had the edge and got 6 votes to Lil’s
1 vote. I feel good for her. She irritated the shit out
of me, but less than Lill so I was pleased when she ended
up getting the loot.
Well... now
we gotta wait till Feb. 1 to get another installment
of Survivor... this time with the “all
stars”. That means Rupert of course and who else???
We’ll have to wait and see!
