Rupert
Gets Shafted
commentary
by Mike Liebner
I
can feel it happening... The Survivor community is
getting restless and starting to lash out as one of
this seasons favorite castaways has been given the
boot. That's right - our chunky pirate friend Rupert
has been given the heave ho by his conniving contemporaries
on Survivor 7 the Pearl Islands.
The
forums are already starting to get busy as fans let
it be known that they are not happy. But hey - Survivor
is a game and unfortunately Rupert got it up the a
hole from his fun loving two face buddies on the island.
It was fair and square. It's a shame he did not see
it coming.
I
have felt this coming for a while. In fact every week
I would say to myself "please don't let Rupert get
voted off". He was walking a tight rope. Sure I know
it is easy being an arm chair quarterback and
all,
but
Rupert
was just
too
strong
and too domineering.
He threatened the others. Sure he served up a whole
lot of fish but only because he took over that duty.
I've
had an uneasy feeling ever since Rupert confronted
Jon and chastised
him for voting against him in one of the earlier
episodes. He should have made it his mission then to
dump Jon
and fast. He had the power to get him voted off.
But instead Rup thought he had scared Jon into being
his
slave. Sorry Rupert, Jon only played along but was
waiting for his chance to get back at ya... Let's
think about what happened here that resulted in Rupert's
getting the shaft. First off if anyone else is to blame
I would say it has to be that stuck up big mouthed
Sandra. It was her that voted for Jon, resulting in
there NOT being a tie between Darrah and Rupert. It
is because of her cockiness and selflessness that that
her voting for Jon resulted in NO TIE. Think about
it - Ryan O would then be the tie breaker and there
is a good chance he would have voted to keep Rupert.
Oh well... If only I woulda... Too late now.
As
for Lillian... what the hell is this loser of a dried
up old over the hill scout leader doing in the game?
And why was she so blind to see that Jon and Burton
were just using her to get rid of Rupert. Rupert was
genuinely nice and concerned about Lil. Jon is just
an arrogant jerk off that plays nice until he gets
behind someone's back and then he does his little girly
dance and goes na - na - na.
Yes - you got it right... I am not a big fan of Jon.
Burton I can tolerate but Jon gives me the heebie jeebies.
He also has that feminine Michael Jackson non denominational
hetero uncertain sex thing going on.
But why oh why did the producers of Survivor allow the
Outcasts back on the show anyways? Why is over the hill
Lill and back stabbing Burton back in the game anyways?
They were voted off. They did not make the grade. I do
not think that twist and turn was very good for the show.
It rewarded those that got the boot previously. And it
has alienated viewers.
Oh well... what is done is done. I will still watch
the remaining episodes of Survivor, but perhaps not as
enthusiastically as before. Not just because Rupert is
gone, but because I feel slightly manipulated by the
producers and feel bad that 2 losers had such a great
impact on a true survivor getting the shaft.
I
just hope that sooner than later Jon will get it up
the butt and get humiliated before he gets ejected. He
deserves to get booted.
And
to Rupert I congratulate you on a well played stay
on the island. I admit I did not like you initially
(you
stole the shoes you pirate, you), but hey - you grew
on me and I saw that you had compassion. Unfortunately
you
didn't
have
the
insight to see that others like Burton would play you
and get rid of you at their first opportunity.
If
I had to place bets I would say that as of now Burton
has the best chance of making it till the end along
with one of the ladies. And of course it will be the
lady who will be the ultimate winner, not much unlike
when Jenna M won last year. But then again I could
be wrong...
