The end is really here...
This
is the final episode of Paradise Hotel.
A two hour episode.
It
was a fun show with enough twists and turns to keep
everyone guessing. The outcome was slightly
dampened by a greedy winner. But you'll just have to
read on to get the full lowdown.
The
three couples get whittled down to two and then the
former guests (the losers)
vote to pick the winning couple. A last minute twist
has the couples swap mates pairing Dave with Tara
and Keith with Charla.

Well, the first season of Paradise Hell,
I mean Paradise Hotel has come to an end. And it seems
right before the final fade to black at the end of the
season finale that the producers were telling us there'd
be more seasons coming in the future. That's cool. It
was an enjoyable show.
Now that the season is over it is time to reflect a
bit and mull over the not so thrilling conclusion of
season one.
Keith and Charla were voted as the winning couple by
all the losing blotel guests after a last minute switch
that moved Keith away from Tara and Dave away from Charla.
Another paradise twist.
It was nice to have the four of them in the final stretch
going for the ultimate prize. I was rooting more for
Keith and Tara mainly because they had a better level
of enthusiasm and were in general more fun than Dave
and Charla.
When they did the switch it didn't matter so much to
me which of the couples won. So I continued o watch when
they announced Keith and Charla as the winners and then
let us know the ultimate prize was $500,000.
Well, as it turned out it was $500,000 to be split between
the two winners.... but there was a final twist... Keith
and Charla were given two checks each for $125,000 -
one with their name on it - one that was blank.
They then
were asked to go back to the original couple configuration.
Dave with Charla and Keith with Tara.
The twist was that the winners had a choice to give the
2nd "blank" $125,000 check to their original
mate.

Deliberations
began and as we all know Keith was honorable and was
happy to give Tara half of the "quarter million".
Very nice. Especially gratifying to see that Keith
was so sincere in wanting Tara to accept it.
But
after Charla was swayed by bug eyed Toni, in the end
Dave was faced with Charla telling him she would not
give him half of the prize. She tip toed and tap danced
around and took advantage of Dave being a gentleman
and told him she was keeping it all to further her "career".
Charla
laid it on heavy about how she wanted him to be her
friend and probed whether he'd hold it against her.
Dave being the puss that he is did not fight her decision
and agreed to still be friends with her.
You
could tell he was hurt. He was in shock but didn't
want it to seem that money was more important to him
than his friendship with Charla.
Charla
on the other hand apparently thought that the money
was more important as she greedily kept what Dave deserved
to share in.
So
- in my mind it is time for a CHARLA BACKLASH. I feel
it. And from what I've read in the forums on Dave and
Charla's pages the community also feels anger towards
her.
Some
people are pretty upset with her. If Charla had any
following I would say that it has diminished significantly.
People hate her for being greedy and dropping another
bomb on the person who may even be responsible for
her making it to the end.
Sure
Dave was a bit sleazy in the final few episodes, but
his loyalty to Charla was never a question. He did
not deserve to be stabbed in the back like that on
National TV.
So
a few words to Charla - you are an ungrateful, selfish,
uncaring girl. You should be ashamed that you put
Dave on the spot like that and punished him for sticking
by your side.
A
few words to Dave - you are better than her. Don't
be all weepy. She is not worth getting yourself all
twisted over. I know you care for her but Dave she
is not good for you. The final proof is that she stiffed
you. She embarrassed you again on TV. I'd say be friendly
to her but do not even think about being her friend,
because she apparently does not value your friendship
enough.
Well,
it's too bad the show ended on that note - but it was
a great season and I'm looking forward to more Paradise
Hotel in the future.
